On a hot summer night in the cramped back room of a Brooklyn bar, Jim Search<\/a>, recorded his debut comedy album, Upstate Understandings<\/a>. The documentary, Understanding Upstate<\/a><\/em>, examines how Jim\u2019s comedy has developed over the last 10 years by juxtaposing his early experiences as a kid growing up in Binghamton, NY, to living his adult life in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, and gives you a look at all the work, collaboration, and hustle that goes into creating an album.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
